Shaolin Kungfu + Financial Intelligence 

Week 1: 8/12-8/16/2024

Age 7 – 11

Day 1: Role-play day: Each child role-plays of having a job in a certain profession, earning play-money by completing simple tasks. Learn the history of money, what can be exchanged for money, and open a “bank account”.

Day 2: Monopoly board game day: Learn through games about decision-making and being responsible for one’s own choices. Introducing the concept of saving for the goals, controlling budget, and identifying “needs” vs. “wants”. Develop entrepreneurial spirit – brainstorming for their own business ideas.

Day 3: Cashflow board game day: Learn through games about basic financial concepts, like balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow. Discover ones’ own value and the importance of teamwork, start to form their business plans.

Day 4: Marketplace day! Goods exchange and buy-sell contest. (Here we’d like to kindly ask  parents’ support for children to bring in small amount of cash for purchase and their used items for sale.) Game for prioritization and tips for time management. Prioritize steps in their business plans.

Day 5: Demo day: Dream big and finish their business plans, learn to calculate business profit/loss, reflect what can be done better. Learn to pitch to peer friends and answer challenging questions. And finally, present to parents!
